I am proud to be a Chicagoan. There is so much to do in the “Windy City”. In spite of the bone chilling temperatures, we find a way to spice up nightlife and even daytime events. There are several venues even just on the north side of the city that cater to every taste. There are several clubs and bars where there is live music. Rock bands, Chicago pop artist, and even jazz singers have quite their pick of which audience they choose to appease. That’s just scraping the surface.
For baseball lovers, you can choose between two teams – Sox or Cubs – and go to enjoy a game. Don’t dare say you are a Sox fan while on the north side…or vice versa. It can get brutal. There are restaurants on Clark Street that recognize just about every nationality in existence, from Nigerian cuisine to Sushi. There are plenty of dance classes that you can partake in as well. In a setting as simple as a hall in Northwestern University or University of Chicago, you can jitterbug to your heart’s delight. Everyone knows the theatre scene is none to be messed with. Broadway shows come through our city all the time, filling up venues such as the fancy Chicago Theatre frequently.
Even at popular festivals such as the Taste of Chicago, tourists and Chicagoans flood the streets to listen try the food from just about every restaurant you could imagine. Bands, celebrities, Chicago pop artist, R & B artists, and many more perform to add to the entertainment. From the Magnificent Mile to boat cruises on Lake Michigan, I could go on and on. I think I have made my point though. Chicago is a happening city!
